Best Time to List - 7-10 PM Server Time

Things get more expensive as the night goes on. Active players log in after getting off work and start to buy things off the Auction House. I like to start listing around 7 PM, because all the major undercutters have already sold their items to the people who usually start logging on around 5 PM.

You can still undercut at 7 PM and charge a hefty mark-up over what you bought the gem for, and there is still plenty of time left in prime-time for it to sell. Usually if you list a gem at 7PM, it will sell by midnight.

This way, when you list your items during the 7-10 PM, you can undercut to the lowest listed price, while still charging a big mark-up over the price you picked up the uncut gems.

However, these are just true most of the time. If the prices are high during the middle of the day, I will sell, and if there are cheap rubies at night, I will buy. There is one particular time that this happens, which we will go over next.

Best Time to Sell - Maintenance and the Day After

Maintenance (especially right as the servers come up) is the perfect time to sell. First off, a lot of auctions end up expiring while the servers are down. The end result is that the auction house has less items than normal on it (lowered supply).

Additionally, tons of people just bought new arena gear and want it gemmed (large eager audience = massive demand). This combined with the shortage due to the server downtime tends to drive prices up.

IF you cannot log on after maintenance, throw up a 24-Hour auction on Monday night. Choose gems which have less than 10 currently for sale and be sure to raise the price 10 g over the going rate. It will sell within the day most of the time.

Prices tend to stay elevated as well on Maintenance Day (raids reset then) and the day after, as many groups raid on these two days and complete their "farm status" encounters at this time.

Combining these Factors

You can use both of these facts to your advantage by buying all your gems for the week on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Log in, grab a ton of cheap uncut gems, and then sell them slowly over the week, and be sure to jack the prices up on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Lazy Jewelcrafting Method: Putting it All Together

Here is your 6-step plan to making an upwards of 1,000 gold per day simply by spending 15 minutes Jewelcrafting:

·         Do your daily quest for the token every single day.

·         Buy the recipes for 2-3 gems with your tokens (or via reputation). Red gems seem to work best (Bold, Delicate, and Brilliant). Do not buy recipes that are not big sellers (for example: +parry rating).

·         Once you have a few recipes, start selling your Chimera's Eyes.

·         Scout for cheap uncut gems in the morning and on weekends. Purchase them as you see and need them.

·         Whenever there are fewer than 20 of the cut gem you want to sell listed on the AH, cut 3-5 gems of cut and list them on the auction house at a solid 20-50 gold mark-up. Your best bet is to list them in the evening and on Maintenance day.

Each day you can sell 1 Chimera's Eye (150-400g depending on when you are reading this) and 9-15 gems (200-500g profit depending market conditions).

Do this every day and you will be earning 10,000+ gold per month, in just 15 minutes of playing a day.
