Cataclysm Volatile Farming Spots

Tier 4 Elementals

In the event that you want to farm Tier 4 elementals (highly dependent on server's economy), I figured it would be good to include the best farming locations.

Note that there is no uncommon-grade elemental material in Cataclysm. Only "Volatile" Earth/Fire/Water/Air/Life exists. Some recipes require an upwards of 75 of these items though, so the demand will still be high.

I expect the value of these elements to be very high around Cataclysm's release and for the following several months. However, I expect the competition to be very intense as well.

Around Cataclysm's release, feel free to earn gold here (you probably will be able to earn a good bit). However, once Cataclysm has been out for several months, odds are revisiting one of the old-world farming locations (like The Elemental Plateau) can make you more money in the same amount of time.

With that said, here are the farming locations:

Tier 4 Earth Elementals
Target item: Volatile Earth
Target mob: Obsidium Stoneslave
Location: Twilight Highlands

Decent amount of spawns here and can support several players. Be sure to check your servers AH before farming these, as historically earth elemental material is not worth much.

Tier 4 Fire Elementals
Target item: Volatile Fire
Target mob: Unbound Emberfiend (red), Bound Fleshburner (blue)
Location: Twilight Highlands

Here are the farming areas:

The red camp is definitely the best; there are only Unbound Emberfiends here. If the competition is intense, there are a good amount of Bound Fleshburners at the camp marked in blue. These also drop Volatile Fire.

Note that there are a few other spawn areas around Twilight Highlands where you can get Volatile Fire, but the locations above offer the densest spawn regions.

Tier 4 Water Elementals
Target item: Volatile Water
Target mob: Muddied Water Elemental
Location: Twilight Highlands

The Muddied Water Elementals at the camp above spawn very densely. This is a great farming spot and you will an area with a denser mob population than this for farming Volatile Water.

Tier 4 Wind Elementals
Target item: Volatile Air
Target mob: Scion of Al'Akir
Location: Uldum (Orsis)

This is a pretty straight-forward farming location. These elementals are the only aggressive enemy around, and there are plenty of them.
