World of Warcraft Paladin Guide
The Paladin is one of my favorite classes in
World of Warcraft as this is one of the classes I ended up with Gladiator as. In this World of Warcraft Paladin
guide, I will be covering some Paladin basics along with some more advanced strategies for players of all
levels.
Paladin Basics
The Paladin is one of the best and most versatile classes in the game. This class is really the only Hybrid that
is actually wanted for Healing, Tanking, and DPS in high-end raiding guilds. Some may argue the druid is capable of
all three, which is true, but guilds inviting DPS-based druids are far and few between!
At any rate, as a Paladin, you are going to find that due to your versatility, playing the class can be a lot of
work! For example, your friends will want you to build a healing or tanking set for 5 man instances and raids, and
you will probably want to build a Retribution (damage dealing) set for farming and PvPing in Battlegrounds.
As a result, as a Paladin you will always be in demand but getting all the different sets of gear you need will
take some work!

A Paladin's gear really depends on their spec. In the next part of this World of Warcraft Paladin guide, I will
talk about the different specs and the equipment you will need for each type of Paladin.
Types of Paladins
At any rate, Holy (healing) Paladins have 1 major weakness: they have very few instant healing techniques and
need to always be in line of sight of their target. This makes them weak open field PvP. See the end of this World
of Warcraft Paladin guide for some more PvP tips. Holy Paladins should focus on +intellect and +spell power
equipment.
Tanking Paladins tend to have too low of an HP total to be a main tank, but are amazing AoE tanks due to
Consecrate. As a result, building a Tankadin (tanking Paladin) is a good idea if you plan on doing a lot of 5-man
instances. A Paladin tank can make speeding through these instances a breeze! Paladin tanks really need to focus on
+stamina gear due to their innate low HP.
Retribution Paladins are pretty good in raids and PvP and are amazing at doing solo content. The major downside
is they lack a repeatable crowd control ability (like Sheep), so they are often overlooked for 5-man instances.
Retribution Paladins have mana regeneration talents along with a talent that converts Attack Power to Spell Power.
As a result, Ret Paladins should focus on equipment with +crit, +strength, and +attack power.
For the final part of this World of Warcraft Paladin guide, I will discuss give some great PvP tips.
Paladin in PvP
Paladins excel at finishing off players in PvP. This goes for both Retribution and Holy
Paladins. The difference between a good and great Holy Paladin is that great Holy Paladins help out on
offense. If you only take away one tip from this World of Warcraft Paladin guide, know that Holy Paladins should
get killing blows in arenas.
Using Hammer of Justice on a healer or the person about to die, followed by Holy Shock and Hammer of Wrath is a
great way to throw some instant damage onto an enemy. This 3000+ damage goes a long way in arenas!
Likewise, Retribution Paladins should focus on finishing off opponents. However, use Repentence on the healer
and then HoJ the current target (stunned targets take more damage). At this point, drop all your timers (Crusader
Strike, Divine Storm, Judgement, Hammer of Wrath) and blow your opponent up.
This is the end of the World of Warcraft Paladin guide. If you are thinking about leveling up a Paladin, I have
two recommendations. First off, spec Retribution, even if you plan on going Protection or Holy later in the game.
Ret Paladins are great levelers. Secondly, I strongly recommend grabbing Dugi's Ultimate WoW Guide as that will
speed up your leveling more than any spec.
