World of Warcraft Warrior Guide
Warriors are the one class in World of Warcraft that will always be in demand
no matter what new patches may bring. In this World of Warcraft Warrior guide, I will discuss different
Warrior specs, gear, and reveal some of the best PvP tips.
Warrior Basics
In this part of the World of Warcraft Warrior guide, I will be discussing basic Warrior mechanics along with
different specs of Warriors.
Warriors all use "rage" as their currency for using abilities. Warriors naturally have no rage but generate it
by using certain abilities, taking damage, and dealing damage.

Additionally, Warriors have a unique trait in that they have 3 different "battle stances": Defensive, Battle,
and Berserker stance. Defensive stance decreases the amount of damage Warriors receive, but you also will not be
able to deal as much damage in this stance. It is meant for tanking monsters or for use in PvP when you are
taking a lot of damage.
Battle stance is a balanced stance that gives the Warrior access to a lot of abilities and is used as a standard
PvP stance. Berserker stance increases Warrior crit rate, but causes the Warrior to take more damage. Berserker
stance is a PvP and PvE damage-dealing stance.
There are three Warrior specs: Protection, Fury, and Arms. As a general rule of thumb, Protection Warriors are
tanks, Fury Warriors are good for PvE DPS, and Arms Warriors are best at PvP.
Protection Warriors are probably the most in demand class in the entire game. While they have slightly less HP
than Feral Druids, Protection Warriors have extremely high mitigation rates since they can use shields.
Prot Warriors also have a wide variety of abilities that allow them to withstand a lot of damage such as Shield
Wall, Shield Block, and Last Stand. Protection Warriors should focus on hitting the defense cap (to reduce damage
spikes), getting a lot of stamina, expertise (to increase threat production), and reaching the hit cap (so taunt
and other threat moves do not miss).
Fury Warriors are the Warrior DPS spec. This class can dish out a lot of damage, especially on fights that
involve the melee classes taking aoe damage (more rage). This class does run into threat problems (especially
with a bad tank) and will often have to hold back on dealing damage as a result.
Fury Warriors can dual-wield or use a 2-hand; both are effective. If you dual wield, you will need a lot of
+hit. All types of fury Warriors should focus on getting +str, +ap, and +crit gear.
Arms is by far the best PvP spec for Warriors. This is because Mortal Strike (-%50 to healing) is devastating
for your target and allows you to kill a target that is being healed. Arms Warriors are used occasionally in raids,
but it is very hard to get in a 5-man group as arms.
If you take away one thing from this World of Warcraft Warrior guide, just remember not to fool yourself into
thinking that because your Fury Warrior does a lot of damage, it will be good in PvP. Arms Warriors are better 99
times out of 100 in arenas. In an uncompetitive random-match Battleground, both specs are viable.
PvP Tips
For the last part of this World of Warcraft Warrior guide, I will discuss some PvP tactics that all Warriors
should use.
- Spec for Mortal Strike and keep this up at all times. The only exception to this is if you are already on a
team with Mortal Strike.
- Use intercept as a spell interrupt when needed. A great way to finish off a healer is to pummel a spell,
and when they begin to cast again, step out of range to intercept. Then, by the time they can cast again,
Pummel will be almost up again. This can lock out a healer for an extended period of time.
- Use Spell Reflect and Defensive Stance regularly. If you are being hit by spells and are caught in the
open, use a shield, defensive stance, and spell reflect to break up damage.
- Use Intervene to escape a dangerous situation. Intervening to your healer is a great way to get out of
harms way and get to safety.
