My favorite two professions are Alchemy and Jewelcrafting. They have two things that no other profession can claim: ways to earn 100+g a day in just a few minutes, and also high profit potential for more serious players.

There are two primary methods of making gold with your professions: using your timers (transmutes, dailies, etc) and crafting items and then listing them on the auction house.

I like professions with timers because even the most casual player can make use of them to earn plenty of gold. It also requires no skill and competition is irrelevant, whereas crafting for profit can often be a trick pursuit (and end in a loss!).

If you have other alts that levels 75 or above, you can level up professions on them as well and make even more gold (you can even do double Alchemy and double Jewelcrafting, more on that in a bit!).

With that said, I will list each profession along with some gold-making tips that you can follow in order to cash in on your given profession.

Most Profitable Professions

The first two professions I will discuss will be Alchemy and Jewelcrafting. There will be an expanded look on each section as I feel that these are the most profitable sections.

First of all, both of these professions have an easy, hands-off, no-risk method for bringing in gold each day - transmutes (Alchemy) and the daily quest (Jewelcrafting). These alone take no skill to execute, can be done by virtually any player, and can support awesome gear, enchants, and the like for nearly any player and his or her alts.

Additionally, for those who want to make even more gold, both of these professions have an extremely high upside: both produced highly-demanded items with low Auction House list fees which can be marked up for large amounts of gil.

What if I do not have these professions?

Then level them up! Both of these are not impossible to level up and you can get a lot of the materials you need to level up these professions of the Auction House.

Now that the level cap has raised to 525 and the cost of ore, gems, and herbs has crept up, it can be a bit expensive. You can earn the gold to level a new profession a variety of ways:

- Farming in one of the profitable spots mentioned earlier in this guide.

- Using the tips below to make gold with your current profession.

- Make gold by using our Auction House guide.

What if I do not want to change professions?

Below the Jewelcrafting & Alchemy section, we will be giving methods for making easy gold with each profession. However, the upside with Alchemy and Jewelcrafting is so high that I recommend switching whenever you get enough gold.

The perks for Alchemy and Jewelcrafting are about as good as they get (Alchemy gets a recipe to turn your character into a dragon, how cool is that?), but it is understandable if you are the "Guild Enchanter" or the like and cannot change professions.

Another idea is to level up an alt and use their professions to make gold with. If your main is an Enchanter and Blacksmith, there is no reason you cannot have Alchemy and Jewelcrafting on your alt.

With that said, the extended Alchemy and Jewelcrafting guide is below, and guides for the other professions will follow.
